KBPG Out & About Sett Monitoring

Sett Checking KBPG

Over the summer months some of the group have been out and about sett checking, but this has been very difficult due to COVID restrictions.

They searched for new active badger setts, checked existing setts against our records and looked for obvious signs of sett disturbance and badger crime.

The 1992 Protection of Badgers Act makes it a criminal offence to interfere with a badger sett but sadly badger persecution happens on a daily basis.

Joining the group on this occasion was PC Caroline Newsome, Wildlife Crime Officer, from West Yorkshire Police who works in partnership with KBPG
